1. OVERVIEW
Internet in Taiwan (mainly Taiwan Academic Network, TANet) is
growing every month. There are a dozen of anonymous FTP servers
around the island, I believe. However, almost all of them are UNIX-
oriented sites, and none with a large collection of PC software. That
reminds me of the urgent need of a PC-software-oriented anonymous FTP
site in Taiwan, especially when our link to US has been heavily
overloaded, and repeated transferring PC software from some well-
arrangement sites, such as SIMTEL20, garbo, CICA, does occupy
considerable bandwidth.
1.1. Official Mirror Site of PC MSDOS Archives
NCTUCCCA.edu.tw (140.111.3.21) is the official mirror site of
PC MSDOS archives at WSMR-SIMTEL20.Army.Mil, Garbo.Uwasa.Fi and
Ftp.CICA.Indiana.Edu in Taiwan. Other mirror sites around the world

1.2. Usenet Archives
NCTUCCCA also make articles from some newsgroups available via
anonymous FTP. In fact, NCTUCCCA is the only site you can retrieve
TW hierarchy and NCTU hierarchy usenet articles so far, and please
remember some of the articles are in Chinese BIG5. You have to view
them under any BIG5 text viewer, or Chinese system like ETen.
1.3. Local Collection
Local collection are available in /Chinese and /NCTU. In
/Chinese, MOE-chinese-pub is mirroring from moers2.edu.tw
(140.111.2.22). In /NCTU, only NCTU hierarchy usenet articles
available. It is small now, however, will play a important role in
the future though.
1.4. Techreports
Some techreports are available at NCTUCCCA. Most of them are
computer-related. And they are copied from the original site after
being announced.
1.5. Graphics
Graphic stuff is in /graphics, including GIF pictures, JPEG
pictures and some graphic utilities.

2.1. Login
Connected to NCTUCCCA.
Name (nctuccca:hch): ftp
