The accompanying file is a precompiled version 4.12 of gdb, but it also contains the support for using the hardware debugging registers on the i386/i486. The commands are 'abreak' and 'wbreak' for access breakpoint and write breakpoint. Support for these features is not in the distribution version of gdb, but being able to use the hardware debugging registers is an extremely powerful debugging tool. The patches which were made to the stock version of 4.12 are in the pub/linux/packages/GCC/src directory. jrs@world.std.com
