1270C.2 Original from N8TQJ to MODS@ALLUS If you would like to increase the versitility of the MFJ 1270-C, here is a minor mod that might be of some interest. The 1270-C may be used with many different radios, yet if any of the ICOM, ALINCO, or YEASU handhelds are to be used a jumper must be installed internally across JUMPER "JL". This brings into line the .10 uf cap across the trans. audio and the 3.9-4.7k res- itor across the PTT that MFJ has included in the circuit so that these HTs will key properly. KENWOOD HTs do not require this. If you would have any need or desire to use the 1270-C in a remote application on an HT without having to remove the case to place the jumper and then remove the case to take out the jumper, simply wire the jumper posts to a small SPST switch(I mounted mine on the front panel with scrap telephone cable for hook-up wire). The choice of radio applications may then be made at the flip of a switch.
