KAM.22 From: G4YFP@GB7RMS.#34.GBR.EU Hi all Kam and KPC owners, Your TNC has crashed and you are now faced with the task of removing those poxy little screws which get tighter every time you touch them, your getting hot under the collar and heaven help anybody who calls you up on the radio. Well chaps, sorry and ladies I have the answer. Fit a small micro switch, they come with three pins and sometimes a slide bar. Remove the PCB from the case and attach with double sided tape, a small micro switch of your choice to the middle and back of the D25 RS232 socket; access to the switch is obtained by a small hole drilled though the back panel just above the D25 socket. The slide bar type micro is best as alignment will not be so critical when fitting, or, by pushing a small object though the hole in the back cover to use it. Wiring, well chaps thats easy for you to work out; but basically what we have is on the tnc board a jumper with three pins on it and a small shorting block on two. Preforming a hard reset is done by removing the jumper from say pins 2 and 3 and placing it on pins 1 and 2 then switching the tnc on then off again and replacing the jumper back to pins 2 and 3. So this is where the micro switch comes in, it too has 3 pins on it one common and one makeand one break, the rest is up to your imagination. 73 de Alan G4YFP@ GB7RMS..
