My 405 petrol overheats when you are doing around a 10 mile run at
about 70-90 mph the temperature goes right upto the white line at the
    end of the hot scale
but if u are stationary in traffic it goes down to about half way

I have changed the thermostat but no luck same problem
also the radiator does not feel very hot to touch
even when the temp is high

    thanks
    Paul
    PS
    Water levels are all ok
The Fans are coming on at the right time and the heater works fine
the overheat light as well as "STOP" light came up when it was almost
at the limit and apparently there are 2 sensors one for the guage and
one for the fans / stop-overheat light on the dashboard
