Bill,
Open the trunk lid. Find some duct tape. Tape across the top of the
tail lights so there is a seal between the body and the lights such
that water flowing down the groove which goes around the trunk can
just flow over the top of the tail lights- NOT down between the lights
and the body, where it works between crappy seals and into the trunk.
Do it so the duct tape can't be seen when the trunk is closed (easy
enough). If it works, you will know. Then you can go directly to the
seals and replace them if you want to get rid of the duct tape.
It worked for our cars.
