Peugeot 403 gas tank.

    Hello Bob,

             Thank you for the tips. With them, I got the tank out of my
    403. I'm now having it cleaned. The interior had appreciable gum
    and rusty crud that was clogging the gas filter that I'd installed at
    the intake to the fuel pump. Also, I cut off about 3 cm of the
    offending tube which ought to make installation easier.

             The numerous messages about starter problems are amusing; if
    my starter fails or if the battery is low, I just take the crank from
    the trunk. One or two turns is sufficient, and off I go!

    P.S. Water pumps can be rebuilt. Sorry, I have no spare.
