Peugeot Re: Wheels for an old 403

    Just a note about 403 and 404 wheels. Apparently the "dish" between
    the two is different (as of the very early '60s). The 404 wheel dish
    is 1.191 inches (30 mm). Also, there were two different makes of
    wheels: Michelin and Dunlop, and they must use the lug nuts for each
    brand (curved bases on Michelin, flat on Dunlop). Almost all US cars
    got Michelin. The factory sent out several letters about the horrors
    of mixing 403 and 404 wheels. One was broken 403 springs, which
    sounds scarey if you look at 403 front suspension. Anyway, another 2
    cents' worth...
