I beleive this is the car that was imported by Citroen Andre a few years
back (2002-2003..). I seem to remember the site stating that it was a
red on tan automatic V6......has to be the only one here. (Shame it's
an automatic...)
Citroen Andre worked it where it would come in through New York with a
valid title, which could then be transferred anywhere else.
A quick check of recent sales at Citroen Andre no longer shows the 406,
however, I do see this in the list:
Peugeot 607 3.0 V6 2001 One owner German car, dark bleu metallic (USA)
Interesting.....so there is a 607 here at least.

So, three problems:
1) I am not looking for another car at the moment (I have four);
2) No car under 15 years old can be imported into Canada, even from the
USA;
3) I would not choose a V-6, but rather a 4 cylinder gasoline engine,
or - better still - the HDI. Fuel costs will be $3 per litre in a
couple of years.
Also, I do not envy the fate of the buyer, these grey/black market cars
are being hunted down all the time by US feds. I know two people in
the USA who have diesel smart cdis down there, and although they
are "legally titled and registered", they always have to be on the
lookout for the G-Men! This car would be the same.
I may look for a 406 C HDI in a decade, but for now, no thanks!
