I have a 75 504 that has been running roughly. It does not burn any
significant amounts of oil (.5 qt. every 3000 mi.), but it runs rough. Last
week I checked the compression and found 3 out of 4 cylinders in the 140-145
range (dry). Cylinder #3 read at 85 dry, 125 wet.
One lister suggested re-adjusting the valves which I will do tomorrow. I
was wondering what the logical diagnostic progression would/should be before
preparing for a ring job. Again, it is not burning oil.
