About the only time a Peugeot engine will burn oil is when the con rod brgs
are so loose that the rings can't keep up with all the oil sprayed on the
cyl walls or valve seals are bad. you may have some valves that are starting
to sink into the cyl head. A wet test would help them seal better depending
on how much oil was used. If your valves have little or no clearance , then
you are in for a valve job soon.
