    You don't need a ring job. You might hav e a leaky valve though. Do
    a leakdown compression check to see where the compression is
    leaking. My guess is a vacuum leak or incorect idle mixture if it is
    just idling bad. Does it run rough at all times? Does it lack
    power? All the tune up items checked. The thing that always causes
    me grief is bad plug wires. If they"re old or rubbed holes in them
    change them.
