I had a bad transmission in my 75 504 and put in a transmission
taken out of an 82 505 (5 spd.). If I remember correctly the only
issue in the conversion was the clutch slave (if you get a trans from
a wreck, take the slave cylinder as well). I had to drill a hole to
mount the line from the slave cylinder but, other than that, it was
an easy job and I much prefer the 5 speed. It is much more
transmission for the buck(s) and there was little conversion in
converting.
