the shift linkages are unique to each trans
and to whether it is a sedan on SW
Also one should consider the speedo gear should match the diff to have an accurate speedometer
It may be necessary to switch the speedo driving gear on the
output shaft inside the tail housing
What is required can be figured out from the parts books and the numbers
on your diff.
For instance....After Jim McDonald put a 5 spd into his 79 504D he never knew how fast he was going.
Other than that it was a perfect conversion
After doing some reconnoitering with parts books and fiches I determined that the right gears were to be found in
one of the 505 V6s

I don't remember having to alter the shift assembly when I put in the
5 speed, though it was a while ago and I may have forgotten.
