The usual - check for rust in the rocker panels, area around
windshield, rear hatch, & door corners. Check the strut spring base
plates. Check for pressure in the cooling system and other signs for
head gasket leak. I'd be willing to spend between $4k-$6k for a perfect
(inside and out) 504 diesel wagon, but I haven't seen a "perfect" one in
a very long time. More often they are just "good" and valued around
$500-$1k, or "very good" at around $1-$2.5k.
