My 1980 504 GLD discharges oil out of the air cleaner - my brother thinks a wire gauze baffle in the top of the oil filler is missing and yes it is not there. I do remember there being plastic screen in the top of the oil fill that prevented the gauze falling into the top of the engine - any ideas?

I was thinking of chicken wire over the top of the filler and a pot scourer as the gauze.
