Not sure which springs you are talking about (not looked at rear 504
drum brakes for a while). If they are those little round ones that
trap a securing clip that anchors in the rear of the backing plate
your Snap-on brake pliers will have a circular end (on one of the
handles) that you push into the keeper while you turn it 90 degrees
to free the clip. Is that what you are talking about? Reinstall is
the opposite.
