Hi Aaron
I'm responding to yr mail without scrolling forward to read replies so sorry
if it's a waste of time cos others have responded already (or you've already
done it anyway!).
I have fitted a Sony XRC7220 head unit + 828 10 CD changer and 6 pioneer
speakers into what we call a "family estate car" 505 within the last few
weeks. This car is equivelant to the US SW8, i.e. 3 row seating 2165 cc
injection engine. I fitted the CD changer into the compartment on the right
hand side of the luggage area (as you look at it from the rear). In a UK car
this is where the jack is normally stored. I ran the control & RCA cables
under the clip on plastic covers at the base of the doors on the RHS of the
vehicle - to achieve this I unscrewed/clipped the trim on A, B & C pillars
which was tedious but easy. By the time I'd finished the mouldings were
pretty full of wires, if I'd been wiring an amp as well I would have genuine
concern as to whether all the wires would actually fit inside the mouldings.
Another tip - it's piss easy to take off the lower bit of centre console
moulding that the radio mounting moulding clips/screws into. If you do so
you get a much better view of where wires go and how to tuck them away neatly.
