Got my 505SR, a eurospec sedan running today. It was sitting for several
years in a barn before I purchased it. I was told the car drove to the barn
fine but after suffering a light front hit. From sitting, the float was
stuck open and the carb was pouring stale gas into the crankcase.
So my friend, peugoet knowledgable, disasembled and flushed the carb. Got
everything freed up as best as possible. I put the carb on and the car fired
up after a few cranks.
But the car runs to fast as if the choke is not releasing. This is a two
barrel solex carb but not like its american cousins. Also there are coolant
lines running to it. Does the coolant tempeture help kick off the choke? I'm
a bit confused about this carb because it is not like any in the US spec
books. How can I diagnose the coke pulloff? Is there a way to manually
disconnect it. Should the flaps in the barrels of each carb open after the
car warms up. The flaps stay mostly closed leaving a few milimeters open. I
can open the flaps by hand but that causes the car to run faster.
There appears to be a idle speed screw on the passenger side, a big screw
