previous 505-XD2S/Land Rover Diesel conversion

    A lost member caught up from the Vectorbd posts. Glad to be here on
    this list as it looks useful and fun.

    A few questions:

    1) Re: Matthias posts on his XD2S, Matthias, can you send me your
    email, I have some Land Rover conversion questions that i didn't want
    to put on this board.

    2) I have a 81 505 w/ XD2S turbo (older 6 bolt short block w/ more
    modern head) Engine is excellent. i plan on putting it in my Land
    Rover:
    - Can I put a new ring gear on it, to move to the 142? teeth, more
    modern setup ? same as the later 8 bolt cranks (this is what the
    conversion kit uses to bolt the Land Rover clutch onto)

    - Can someone tell me the hp. difference between the XD2ST and XD3T ?
    I would rather have the larger XD3T, but the 81 XD2S I have, has a
    good engine history (in general and in particular)so i may stick with
    it.
    The torgue is probably similar which is what matters but curious all
    the same, I did not see a listing for the XD2S on the "Engine Specs."
    section, only XD2S NA
