The horse power difference is so-so. The torque difference though will make
a world of difference, especially where you live Lawrence. 20 lbs torque
makes a huge difference in that country. I made the mistake of not reading
the torque chart when I changed the motor in my International. 7HP
difference between a 304 and a 345. So in goes the 304. First hill I climb,
it wasn't very big, the truck would not come out of 1st gear. I thought"
what's going on here? This thing usually accelerates up a hill." Once home
,I checked the specs a little closer, 45lbs difference in the torque. Should
have seen me climb the hill a Brian Holmn's with a Citroen "H" van on the
trailer. You could have walked up faster, I almost had to back down the
hill.
