Anup, Do you know where the tach relay is? It is hard to explain.
But take a flashlight at night to avoid back light and shine it up
under the dash in the area of the brake and clutch pedal arms. Yes
it is very hard to find and see, but it is there. Try a big mirror.
Look for a blue piece that is on the realy with a (I believe it is
six) wire bundle going into it. Once you find it, feel up in that
area to find 10mm nut. Use a small 10mm boxed end wrench to loosen
the nut. Pray that the threads are good and usually you can back the
nut all the way off with your fingers. The nut is on the other side
of the metal partition from the relay. I never reinstall that relay,
but use a tie wrap instead to reduce exposure to insantity which
caused this relay to be mounted there to begin with. Now, get your
very small flat screwdriver and pry off the relay cover and you will
see a spring. Carefully remove the spring and then withdraw the
contact arm. Get a small file like on a leatherman tool and clean
the contacts of the relay. Reassemble points and plug relay back
in. Turn on key and manually push contact in. You should hear the
pump run. If it doesn't, get under the car and hammer on the main
pump. If it then runs, replace the main pump asap or it will stop
again. We are assuming that you have checked the fuse and don't live
in an area where car cancer thrives. If you can activate the pump by
pushing in the contacts, then the relay is most likely the culprit.
You can try another one, or upgrade to later style. You have to get
adaptor harness from WH at 8002223320 and a new type relay. Bill
