Please be carefull with your Peugeot. 1988, that's 14 years, and rubber,
even good quality, becomes brittle. For good quality replacement, I suggest
getting Aeroquip braided stainless steel hoses from a place like Summit
www.summitracing.com ). Summit also has both AN and AN to metric adapters.
You should be able to replace the whole front wiring for less than OEM (but
more than non braided hoses such as hosetechnique that Jim posted about),
yet significantly increase quality. I have all the bits and pieces waiting
to be installed along with a Malpassi fuel pressure regulator on my own STX.
You mention you dont want braided but if you change your mind I can dig up
my order. Aeroquip is also used on planes so definitely not the Pep Boys
type of braided hoses.
Ciao,
Francois

So yesterday I opened the hood
and started the engine. Ran back and shut it off quick. She was
spewing fuel big time from the forward most junction where pressure
hose enters Tee. I loosened clamp (WHICH WAS NOT TIGHT!) and removed
line. Was surprised to see that there were no cracks. Only a well
crushed hose and I was left concluding that the clamp was too loose
and that the hose may have weakened over time and had just squashed
out of the clamp. I cut the end off and reinstalled the line and
made sure the clamp was tight, but not too tight. Now I will look
for best hose I can find to avoid a Lion fire, which I am very
greatful didn't occur this time. Anyone know of racing hose or super
hose which is better than average fuel hose? VW use to make a hose
for type 3 that was close to eternal. I am not talking about the
braided stuff that is crack prone and no d__mn good!
