I am in the process of installing new front rotors and new inner and
outer wheel bearings on my 84 505 wagon. I bought kits that include both
bearings, the grease seal, the little rubber seal that secures the dust cap,
a new nut and a new washer (that slides on the stub axle between the nut and
    the outer wheel bearing) .
The washers (I bought kits for each side) have a little nub that fits
into the machined groove on the stub axle. The little nub, on one side of
the washer is perfectly flat. On the other side it is rounded. I have no
idea which way I should install this washer and if it matters which way I do
    install it.
Could someone please tell me which way to install the washer e.g.,
"...rounded part of the nub towards the wheel bearing, or towards the nut."
When I pulled the rotors I made sure to keep everything in the order
that I removed it. When I went to clean and inspect the parts I noticed that
one side had the rounded nib facing the nut and the other side had it facing
    the wheel bearing.
A clear answer will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ken
