Well remember last week my wife came home claiming she smelled gas
real bad. So, on a day when I had time, I went out and started it up
and took a look. WOW, shut it down real quick and was amazed that my
wife was not burned in the bomb! Anyway, the leak was at the Tee in
front and I cut back the hose and reconnected it and restarted engine
with all back to normal. AT LEAST I THOUGHT THAT WAS THE CASE!!!
Then she took the car on a 15 mile run and back after visiting a
friend. The complaint was that the car stopped in an intersection,
and she was able to restart it and it didn't seem to run right. Luis
came over to get Rob's 51K diesel to do some work on it and I had him
look at the STX. We started it up. It was surging and running
rich. Then all of a sudden we had a fuel leak under the car! He
said the pressure regulator is stuck and not allowing fuel to return
to the tank as it should. The pressure went up so far that it caused
the engine to run rich and the high pressure line to leak in not one
but two places. SO IF ANY OF YOU ARE RUNNING ONE OF THESE HIGH
MILEAGE STXES, YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHANGE OUT THAT REGULATOR BEFORE YOU
OR YOUR WIFE ARE AT THE SCENE OF A HOLACOST!! I'm sure glad Luis
looked at it, because I'm not sure I could have nailed the problem
    that fast! Bill
