Even on a long trip I get the same effect but it takes longer The auto elec told me the car was only fitted with a 35 amp unit as original and is no good for a non factory aircon.
He also advises that the Renault 12 here in Australia has the same 35 amp unit. What puzzles me I have the same aircon fitted to the R12 and no problems. If in idle situations for a time I switch them off.
There does not seem a lot of room unless I cut the battery tray to fit a larger unit
As like most people car wiring is a no know area so any suggestions would help
