I have yet to find a cheap solution to modern wheels for 505. Now, I know
that most of the list will say why bother but I know that there's 10 or
more of you that have expressed interest over the years.

The easiest plan is to stick with a 4-lug scheme and probably best to use
as big as possible. A common PCD is 4 X 114.3 (4.5 in).

Because the existing Peugeot hub scheme is not "hub-centric", it is
imperative that any adapter is attached with tapered seat hardware.
I propose replacing the current lug studs with tapped holes and attached
the billet adapter plate with countersunk allen socket Grade 10 bolts.

The new wheel would be "hub-centric" per the current convention. The
adapter plate would be 1/2" 6061-T6 with pressed-in studs.

If anyone is interested something like this, contact me off-list. If there
is enough interest, I'll get a run made under contract.

Typical wheels as used on this Honda:

The remaining trick to all of this is getting the offset/backspacing
    right.
