That's one thing that disappoints me with my TD. The oil bath air
filter assembly kills all turbocharger noise. I'm going to have to do
something about that, someday.
I have a K&N cone filter and modified airbox on my XN6 STI (which
isn't turbocharged, of course). It sounds a bit ricey I think, all
that induction boom. But, you couldn't hear it over the wide-open
exhaust I once had. :) I just don't care for the mess that an oil
bath air filter can generate.
I now have issues with making a slow car sound loud--my STI would run
around making all this racket, but not have any s**t to back it up.
A Turbo is a different story, most of them have got a little
something-something... hehehe
