Hi !
Dont worry about your 505 TD on long highay trips, thats when you really get
to enjoy the car. As mentioned by others make sure you nuse a good oil !! and
dont forget the transmission and rear differential, They benefit from an
fluid / oil change also.
I drive an 82 604TD 5 speed that has close to 320.000 miles on it, have
traveled all over the US in that car and have cruised at 70 - 80 mph for
hours at the time, A few months ago I made a trip from Home (Richmond, VA) to
Florida and back home by the way of Alabama, all interstate driving at 70 -75
mph and got 34 mpg !
So ! go0 for it and enjoy, Just watch your Temp Gauge !! that engine dont do
well if overheated ! Head & gasket !!
