84 505 TD: High Oil Consumtion

My XD2S engine is now going through 1 quart of oil every 300 miles. I
find this extremely
high. The engine has only 11,000 miles on it. I placed a vacuum guage on it
today and have essentially no vacuum at idle. Exhaust emissions are pretty
high as well. I assume valve adjustment? Any replies are greatly
appreciated. Thanks.
