the guy we bought it from said the engine had to have new timing chain
and a pump rebuild every 175,000 and new injectors at 100,000. and
valve adjustment every 30,000 and oil changed every 2500 miles, he said
he had the very best mechanic who also loved peugeots to keep it
running. the engine had ne pistons rings, rod and mains, around 400,000
when we bought it for $600 from the guys kids because they didn't want
him driving "an old junky poogot" as they said. well it was far better
than junky, it runs great, i just had to replace turbo. one thing that
made it last so long is that the car never shut off except for service
or fueling, so there was not much expanding and contracting and dry
starts etc. or maybe i got a rare one.
