84 505 STI manual trans info

I have an 84 505 STI sedan in need of a clutch. While I have the
transmission out I would like to change the real seal and any other
possible leak point seals. It looks as if there is leakage from the
top of the box where the shift rail connects and I am wondering if
there is any way to remove the tailpiece from the transmission and
service any sort of seal there to ensure that there will be no future
leakage. My questions are:
1. What are the possible, serviceable points on the transmission
that I can attend to with the transmission out of the car?
2. Is there a front seal and can I get to it to change it by simply
removing the bell housing?
3. Can the shift rail seal be changed by removing the tailpiece, or
is there some sort of other horrid procedure that I need to carry out
to change that seal?
Thanks,
Ken
