Re: 505 rear window installation

I found that first installing the gasket on the window, securing it
with a few strips of duct tape in 4 spots and letting it sit for a
while (to acclimate the gasket to the window) and then, after
removing the tape, for installation, using a somewhat blunted cotter
key puller (the kind with the screw driver handle) to get the gasket
lip over the frame worked fine.
I learned this technique from an auto glass installer who made the
job look ridiculously simple. I did a couple of rear 504 windows
like that and a super beatle windshield that went in with little effort.
