    Excellent diagnosis George!

Be curious how many relay installs were due to this connector versus the switch, which I'm sure is always the prime suspect in the "click no-start" scenario.

    Thanks!

Anyone with the dreaded click and no start do this simple check first.
See my photos uploaded in the group home.
Find the RED single connector at the firewall (blue wire)
    Replace it
    OR
Undo the connector, check the volts at the feed side of the connector
when the key is in the start position. Over 11v is OK, means switch is OK.
Reconnect it and check the volts at the solenoid while cranking....it
should be 9 to 10v. Normal cranking voltage. If it falls below 9v
    replace the connector.

After replacing the 220,000 mile starter on Saturday and expecting no
problems it CLICKED-no-start again at the supermarket lot.
Replicating the problem at home, ie there is a click and no turning
over, by holding the key in the start position the voltmeter showed
    about 4 to 5 volts.
With my son holding the key in start, and looking at the voltmeter, I
started to move the individual colored multipin connectors at the fire
wall. Hoping to see a jump in the voltage as a loose contact was
wiggled; instead I felt a hot wire.
The heat was at the connector,.... amongst the big connectors there is
a single blue wire with a single red connector. This is the wire to
the starter solenoid. I cut it out and replaced it.
The red plastic was cut away and we did a post mortem.....the female
side had lost one of the tabs and the spade was corroded and charred.
