    A coil should be shorted from one sideo f the primary to the other, and open
    between primary and secondary. Is there continuity between the coil primary
    and the triggering device in the distributor?

    Sometimes when I troubleshoot, I start in the middle and establish whether
    the problem is up stream or downstream first.
