I had to rebuild a 505 V6 alternator a while back, new brushes and new slip
ring. Cost about NZ$80 for the new slipring on the armature, and about $6
for the brushes with me doing the R&R and disassemble/reassemble the alt.It
had only done about 180,000 miles.
