Hello,

Finally, I am on the peugeot list.

My name is Chuck Swepston and I live in Apex, North Carolina.

I have an 81 505s TD (144k) and a 85 505 Gas turbo (88k).

I have just finished restoring the 81. It was a Pennsylvania car
most of its life and I removed all of the rust and painted it a
rootbeer metallic color (93 GMC truck color), put all new lights
and body side molding on it and repainted all of the interior vinyl.
I have rebushed the whole suspension and put Bilsteins on the front
and rear. I also picked up a set of the 15" wheels and put some new
MXVs on them to better the handling and the looks of the car. I blacked
out the headlight bezels, the window chrome and the rear section where
the license plate mounts.

Needs: Does anyone know if you can buy rebuild kits for the Injection
pumps because it smokes pretty bad on cold starts. (glow plugs and
compression are good)

The 85 has the typical clear coat peel but was a steal at $2000 two years
ago. It only had 56K on it and the guy thought that it was going to need a
new head gasket but the oil leak turned out to be the oil supply line where
it meets the turbo... no more oil leak. I have the european lights (full sized
with H4 bulbs) in place of the original headlight/running light combos. It
has a K&N filter with the boost slightly tweaked.

Needs: Intercooler kit from an 86 or newer 505 gas turbo and more information
about the electronic waste gate that was used (or so I have been told)
on the 200hp version in 88.

Parts....

I get most of my (new) parts from CFI in Decateur Ga. I always deal with
Mac they have great prices and are really good to me. Their number is
404-321-6545.
I also bought out a complete dealer inventory a few years back and other
than having a bunch of cool posters and banners I have some 405/505/604 parts.
I sold all of my 504/404/304 and earlier parts to a guy from Cincinnati
(Joe Wagner 513-784-6459) that deals in older peugeot parts and a guy from
Sydney that restores pre-505 peugeots and owns a Peugeot Museum in Sydney. The
pictures of his setup and all of his cars were really cool.

For used parts I seem to have more parts cars than I have room for. As most
of you know you can never get rid of Peugeots for any worthwhile amount so its
better to keep them. I have friends in the towing business and they always call
me when they pick up a stray. I have the following if anyone needs any parts..
1980 505 gas, 1983 505s TurboD 1985, 505 Turbo Gas.

I guess thats enough for now.. I have a bunch more things that I want to
talk about but more later.....
