81 - 82 Peugeot 505 TD's (diesel)

Can anyone tell me what is the correct pressure for the radiator cap on these
models?? Also I'm looking at an 81 505 TD (diesel) and I checked
compression. It as 420 - 420 - 420 - 390. Unfortunately the battery went
dead after that so I haven't driven it yet. The cranking sounded OK (no
plugs in) but the #4 cylinder -- is that a bad sign or is it normal and in
tolerance. I'll know more after they charge the battery and I get to drive
it. It was supposedly overhauled about 40,000 miles ago and indeed the
engine really looks cherry inside and out -- new injector pump etc. Just the
body and interior are pretty shabby.

The car I have is an 82 and this engine looked identical except one mechanic
tells me the 81 has a lighter or smaller crank than the 82. I can see the
flywheel and starter are different. If nothing else, it would be nice to
have a fresh engine and tranny standing by as backups for my present 82
model. Thanks for any advice.
Bob.
