Don't know about Africa, but I do know that the 504 is still made in S.
America, and the 505 in China. In trying to get addresses and possibly
establish a contact that could come in handy for parts. M&R
Distributors in Toronto currently supplies Peugeot parts but he is from
Africa and wishes to return. When he heard about these cars still being
made he asked in desperation for their addresses. He says "it would be
incredible business importing parts for these cars to Africa" because
they are so popular. It would be really neat to see what they've done
to the 504 interior and exterior trimmings. I saw a picture of a S.A.
model but it was a side profile and you could barely see the tail lenses
(different than "old" 504), and the interior not at all. I still think
the 504 was a great car and I keep an eye open for a "good" one. I
shipped one to Croatia 2 years ago as transporation for my holidays. It
was a '78 Florida model with A/C. I upgraded it with 505 mag wheels and
plush 505 interior. All but the dashboard was 505 equipment, including
heated seats and full carpetting. Total cost of the car, shipping,
restoration, and doner 505, came in under $3500 CDN. Considering the
family has visited Croatia 3 times in the last 2 years and driven the
car constantly during the visit, it has more than paid for itself in
saved rental costs. Besides, you can't beat the mileage and comfort!
