The drains for the fresh air intake empty behind the inner fenders. The
water then has to make it's way down and out of the fenders at their
rear
most and lowest point ie. right at the front of the doors where it
freezes and then crunch. My 84 SW got bent last week worse than any
I've ever seen. I had the front fenders off an 84 GL a couple years ago
, I drilled
holes thru the inner fenders and extended the drain hoses so it did it
directly onto the ground , no more rusted fenders behind the wheels or
bent doors . Covering the cowl in front of the w/s keeping the snow off
the roof etc. will help. The first time I took a fender off one of these
beasts I spent two days scratching my head wondering what the hell the
designers were hoping would happen here. This isn't planned obselesence
this is irresponsible. The old Peugeots that made this companies rep.
may not have had power everythings but they didn't have any of this
garbage.
