This may be the same thing as what happened to my 86 just after I bought
it. The symptoms sound remarkably similar. It turned out to be the fuel

    Peugeot fuel pump relay failure is caused by change of ownership.

    Before jumping in though, have you checked the fuse behind the ashtray? I'm
    not joking, remove the ashtray and pull the fuse to see if it's burnt out.
