Just came back from my epic adventure. 8000 KM by truck (84' Nissan
KingCab), 3600 KM on motorcycle (82' GPz 750) down the Blue Ridge
Parkway in Virginia (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED), and one month to complete.
I was following the ads string and had to put my two cents in regarding
my favorite one. We never saw any in any sort of media up here, but I
was able to see quite a few Peugeot ads at a film festival featuring
the best ads from around the world.
The ad was referred to earlier, but the recolections were slightly off
on what was being said. I can't remember the exact wording but ........
The openning scene is of beautiful victorian type bedroom. A huge bed
is in view, and behind it a huge window. The announcer says "Most
people think this is where the french perform best........." After a
slight pause a gorgeous 505 Turbo comes crashing through the window and
lands beside the bed, the announcer then says " They were
wrong......Introducing the 505 Turbo by Peugeot......"
I never saw this on TV, and often thought if it were played more
nationally, it would have made a difference. They certainly would have
sold more cars.
