Squeeeking Brakes

I have read somewhere that if your disk brakes don't squeek, check them,
something's wrong! All kidding aside, they can be annoying. The most
permanent solution I have found is to replace the pads (they are
probably glazed) and replace the disks (worn or warped). This can be an
expensive proposition. The next best thing is to take the pads off,
clean them with a DRY rag and deglaze them. Then take your disks off and
have them turned at a local brake and muffler shop. Be careful not to go
to thin on the disks as they will crack when heated. (check the minimum
with your book or dealer) Also if they are warped, toss them in the
trash! It's just not worth scrimping money on the most important safety
feature of your car.
