Just to follow-up on Jim's post on our "mini-meet"
As Jim mentioned my wife's family is from the Rochester NY area so,
it was an easy sell to get her to drive the nine hours to Rochester from
Cincinnati. Once there I got to spend Friday afternoon with Jim at
Morris Motors while my wife and kids visited with Grandma.
I had a great time visiting with Jim and touring the "donor" yard at
Morris Motors. Coming from Peugeot starved Cincinnati seeing the
collection of cars at Morris was more than I could have ever hoped for.
I saw my first 504's, a 405 wagon, early 505's and numerous other
combinations of 505's and 405's. I loved it.
If it wasn't for the nine hour drive, I'd meet Jim there once a month to
rumage and muse. As it is I'm planning on returning next spring,
probably June after school gets out. This time I'll bring both cars
and plan on having Morris Motors's ace mechanic bring them up to spec.
For anyone who's interested I'd propose that we meet in Rochester some
weekend in June. My though is we could meet for Lunch Friday and then
head over to Morris for a tour of the yard, followed by an informal
exchange of repairs and fix up ideas. I found my discussion with Jim
invaluable, just being able to bounce ideas off him and get quick
answers to long time questions was wonderful. After a full day of
Peugeot talk I'm sure we'd be ready for a happy hour somewhere and then
dinner for those interested.
Saturday, could be a hands on day for those interested in doing minor
"parking lot" repair work on there cars. We could replace Oxy sensor,
sparkplugs, change oil, whatever...
Anyways just wanted everyone to know what a great time I had in
Rochester and toss this idea out to see if anyone's interested in
getting together in June.
