Is the Saturn easier to fix than the 405?

In many ways, the Saturn and 405 are much alike. Because it was under 100,000
warranty, I let the dealer do the 30K, 60K, 90k service on the Saturn. As it
has a timing chain, there is one less expense, since that does not need to be
replaced (or feared to break) at 60,000 miles. Major service for a Saturn is
about $300. For a 405 it's about $1000 if everything is done that is supposed
to be done. (Some dealers do not change radiator coolant are flush the brake
system). Last trip in to the dealer the 405 DL needed rpm sensor & CV boots.
That was $1000. As soon as I bought it from the used car dealer it need a
engine computer part, also was $1000. I PAID $3750 for the whole car about
four years ago! I have paid that out again many times over in upkeep.

Routine service (oil & filter) is easiest on the 405DL, then the SATURN SL2,
lastly the 405 Mi16. Tune-up on the 405 DL was not too hard, the SATURN
"looks" to be even easier (but I've not done it yet).

Comment: The Saturn was designed to be user friendly, including
maintenance/repairs. Not so the 405. I'm told the 406 IS user friendly.
