Re: 89 405 Mi16 -- Should I buy?

Check manufacturing date on inside drivers door....early manufactured
models (<8/89) often have more of the minor nuisance problems

Check to see if engine serial number matches vin number on door panel.

AC should not be too much to fix...probably a leak and recharge <$400

This car will easily go 150k miles and could very well go 200k

Check sunroof operation....cables often get rusty.

Make sure drain holes under ECU have been cleaned of leaves and debris.
they can clog and flood the ECU.........big $$$ to replace. ECU is under
drivers windshield wiper. Ask owner if "Check Engine" light has ever
come on.

Car wasn't repainted due to an accident? Check VIN numbers on body panels
and match them to VIN number on door.

Have headlights been replaced?

I think this is a good buy. If you don't buy it, let me know, I might.
