Various people have written in to say 1 505 starter failure should be
enough etc.

I'll relate my own experience. When I bought my 505 2.2 in October 95 with
113Kmiles it needed a starter. The new one put in, a Beck/Arnley
replacement as I recall did not always spin. There was no evidence of
failing of battery or voltage etc. and as a 5-sp has no relay the starter
was replaced and all was well. After 14 months, now w/o warranty the 2nd
one starting something similar. The new one has worked wince w/o a hitch
and it's not a B-A but I forget what it is. With all the wrenching and
inspection on the 1st replacement loose connections were dismissed. So
good starters last a long time. Thos B-A might have been Bad-Apples!
