RE: trany messing with speedometer??

Hi Doug,

I don't know the answer to whether the gears inside the tranny are
different, but the rear end gear ratios are certainly different on the
wagon vs. sedan. Therefore, if the gears in the tranny are the same
(which I think they are) there is still a discrepancy in gears at the
rear. To compensate for that they probably use a different speedo gear
in the tranny. It's a small plastic gear that attaches to the output
shaft of the tranny and turns the speedo via a cable. I'm not familiar
with those trannys, but it seems like all you have to do is exchange the
plastic speedo gear to get back on track (if indeed they are
exchangable).
