Revving the MI16

I was suprised to hear that Radu has not gone beyond 4000 rpm in his
MI16. I could go on but between 5000 and 6500 rpm this engine comes
alive! Between 6500 and 7000 that glorious crackle! Above 7000 thank
goodness for the rev limiter!

Admittedly, with the high miles on my car, I rarely venture to the red
line anymore. This leads into my question for the experts. When I
accelerate firmly, there is a noticeable vibration. Also, I can
detect a swishing noise from the engine area. There is no vibration
at steady speed or under braking. My guesses are wheel bearing or
soft motor mounts. Can anybody help me?
