Well, my old '84 505 looked a little rusty; that's because it was. Peugeot
had thoughtfully left the fender liners out of the cars shipped to Winnipeg,
so the top of the front fender rusted through. Also, the rocker panels
rusted out and the lower parts of the doors rusted badly. However, for a
while I couldn't afford anything better, and since the car was running fine,
I kept driving it.

I eventually fixed it all up, repainted it myself, and then sold it a couple
of years later. I'm not sure the result was worth all the work, however. I
couldn't get much of a price for the car even though it looked very nice
(until you looked underneath, where you could still see plenty of rust.) It
certainly would not have paid to have a body shop do the work, as it would
have cost more than what I got for the car.

So what do you expect from a 10-year-old car? Not everybody's going to keep
them pristine. Even Columbo's looked pretty beat up.
